The absolute essence of top-quality British engineering, every internal component and cog in this Orange lock is engineered from the highest quality steel and brass to the tightest of tolerances.
Each lock is carefully hand-assembled to ensure the inner workings dovetail together perfectly and provide a seamless operating experience and a latch that will last a lifetime.
The anti-friction latch bolt is reversible for easy installation and the grip-tight follower ensures a positive handle action.
The benefits of our British-made Orange Lock, in a nutshell:
1. Positive handshake: the grip-tight follower guarantees a positive connection with the handle spindle and when used in conjunction with our unique rose mechanism, handles will not wobble.
2. Solid brass forends, strikes, extended strikes and rebate kits are hand finished in all the Joseph Giles finishes.
3. Solid brass slotted screws included in the matching finish, for the ultimate considered aesthetic.
4. Our discerning clients get the choice of branded (BF) or unbranded (UF) forends.
5. For easier ordering and installation, the handing can be easily changed without the need for un-assembling the lock.
BF - branded forend plate with small JG logo, as per product images
UF - plain, unbranded forend plate
SPRINGING
HS - heavy sprung, recommended for use with heavy levers or lever handles being installed without our sprung bearing rose
MS - medium sprung, recommended for use with levers handles being installed with our sprung bearing rose
LS - light sprung, recommended for use with door knobs
Finish Types
If you're wondering which finish type to select, here's the key difference: living finishes gently patinate and change over time, ageing gracefully, whilst ageless finishes are either naturally unchanging, or boast a protective ceramic coating which mean the finish stays consistent.
