LV1196: Arrieta Lever Handle

PRODUCT STORY

The Arrieta handle draws inspiration from some of the most iconic designs of the 20th century. These include the classic 1950s Ball Clocks by American modernist designer George Nelsons, and the incredible ‘juguetes del viento’ (giant wind toys) by Spanish artist César Manrique on his home island of Lanzarote. Arrieta is the name of the village where the first of Manrique’s dynamic installations was commissioned in 1992. The product design came from the form and appearance of the manual handle of a coffee grinder.


Made from solid brass, the lever handle is brightly powder coated to give it’s quirky, fun appearance. It was created through collaboration with internationally-acclaimed interior designer Anca Rotaru. She is known for her playful yet versatile designs, her understanding of space, and her fresh, colourful yet elegant style. The handles are available in her specially selected red, green and blue RAL colour finishes.

DETAILS

The ‘ARRIETA’ door lever handles are made from the finest grade solid brass and are carefully hand-finished in specially curated Joseph Giles finishes in combination with specially selected RAL colours including, RAL 6024 Traffic Green, RAL 5005 Signal Blue and RAL 3001 Signal Red.


All our lever handles come with a 10-year mechanical guarantee and are supplied with the unique JG sprung bearing grip tight inner roses.


*Pair of lever handles includes:

  • One pair of lever handles (two pieces, 1 left-handed and 1 right-handed)
  • One pair of decorative cover roses (four pieces, two plates which fix to the door, and two covers)
  • One pair of unique JG sprung bearing grip tight inner roses** (two pieces, 1 left-handed and 1 right-handed)
  • One set of fixings for lever handles which include screws, bolt through fixings, washers, grub screws, allen key, and an 8mm (5/16) spindle to suit doors up to 54mm (2.12”) thick

*Levers are also available as single handles (left-handed or right-handed).

** Other types of JG inner roses are available for specialist applications, see the ‘Rose mechanism booklet’, however, we strongly recommend sprung bearing grip tight rose because of its incredible performance.

Rose Mechanism

SPBEARING

Stainless steel roses with springing mechanism and sealed ball bearings, for optimum performance.

The unique rota-bearing sprung rose brings smooth, positive and flawless operation while addressing all the common lever handle issues. The unique rota-bearing sprung rose is our preferred option to be used with all lever handles.

BEARING

Stainless steel roses with sealed ball bearings, for optimum performance.

The bearing rose to bring smooth, positive and flawless operation while addressing all the common door knob issues. The unique bearing rose is our preferred option to be used with all door knobs.

BASIC

Flat aluminium rose, that may have to be used in some situations where the Grip Tight, Self-centring, Sprung Bearing Inner-Rose System cannot be accommodated, for example, thin metal doors.

This rose option is not our preferred rose to supply with lever handles or door knobs, it does not offer any of the properties and or performance of the grip tight or sprung rose designs, and operation of the handles are purely down to the strength of the lock and highly accurate installation.

FIXED

Stainless steel roses with TIG-welded fixed spindles.

A highly durable fixed rose for use where a lever handle or door knob is not required to turn, or rotate but is needed to be installed in a push/pull application, e.g. when used in conjunction with a magnetic catch on a cupboard door.

HSTO BEARING

Stainless steel single sided rose with TIG welded spindle with bearing for smooth operation, designed for lever handles and door knobs.

The bearing rose to bring smooth, positive and flawless operation while addressing all the common door knob issues. To be operated from one side of the door by the use of a single door knob.
