DETAILS

This mortice release is available with both long (suitable for timber installation) and short (suitable for metal installation) faceplate options. It is easily switched between fail locked and fail unlocked and is available in both monitored and non-monitored versions. It has a holding force of 2,000 lb (907Kg) and has been tested to 1,000,000 cycles.

In fail-safe mode (the most popular mode), the release will unlock when power is removed and in the fail-secure mode, it will lock when power is removed.

An electric release will need to be wired into a power source to be able to function; they are often used in conjunction with a lock that has a night latch function and will release a lock to enable a door to open via the following ways:

  • Lock being unlocked by a key or thumbturn
  • A wired-in 'Press to exit' button
  • In the event of a fire (assuming the release has been wired-in to the fire alarm system and it is in fail-safe mode)

Included:

  • Electric release
  • Solid brass forend plate
  • Fixing pack with matching slotted woodscrews
