PRODUCT STORY

Finely crafted and thoughtfully designed, the 'Buckland' collection draws inspiration from a seminal British architect of the Arts and Crafts movement, Herbert Tudor Buckland. Imbued with the spirit of Arts and Crafts, the 'Buckland' range features strikingly handsome elongated shapes blended with elegantly curved contouring. 


 Supplied on a minimalist rose for the ultimate discretion and to enable the main primary decorative door furniture (lever handle, door knob, or door pull), to be fully appreciated.

DETAILS

Our thumbturns are made from finest grade solid brass and are hand-finished in all the standard Joseph Giles finishes.


Thumbturns are used in conjunction with a privacy lock & an emergency release (each supplied separately) and are usually installed on a hinged WC/bathroom door.


A thumbturn is fitted to the inside of a WC door and is twisted clockwise to engage a privacy lock and anti-clockwise to disengage a privacy lock, whilst an emergency release is installed on the outside of the door and can be used in the event of an emergency to open the door.


They are supplied as single items with a minimalist rose, the necessary fixings and a 5mm square spindle.

Rose Mechanism

SPBEARING

Stainless steel roses with springing mechanism and sealed ball bearings, for optimum performance.

The unique rota-bearing sprung rose brings smooth, positive and flawless operation while addressing all the common lever handle issues. The unique rota-bearing sprung rose is our preferred option to be used with all lever handles.

BEARING

Stainless steel roses with sealed ball bearings, for optimum performance.

The bearing rose to bring smooth, positive and flawless operation while addressing all the common door knob issues. The unique bearing rose is our preferred option to be used with all door knobs.

BASIC

Flat aluminium rose, that may have to be used in some situations where the Grip Tight, Self-centring, Sprung Bearing Inner-Rose System cannot be accommodated, for example, thin metal doors.

This rose option is not our preferred rose to supply with lever handles or door knobs, it does not offer any of the properties and or performance of the grip tight or sprung rose designs, and operation of the handles are purely down to the strength of the lock and highly accurate installation.

FIXED

Stainless steel roses with TIG-welded fixed spindles.

A highly durable fixed rose for use where a lever handle or door knob is not required to turn, or rotate but is needed to be installed in a push/pull application, e.g. when used in conjunction with a magnetic catch on a cupboard door.

HSTO BEARING

Stainless steel single sided rose with TIG welded spindle with bearing for smooth operation, designed for lever handles and door knobs.

The bearing rose to bring smooth, positive and flawless operation while addressing all the common door knob issues. To be operated from one side of the door by the use of a single door knob.
