PRODUCT STORY

The 'CUBE' edge pull series was one of our first products. Designed in the late 90’s, it is still as popular today, a testament to the timelessness of the design. Although the design philosophy is minimalism, the handle is so discreet and versatile it can be used in many different styles of interior design.


True to our value of 'always striving for perfection', we designed the EP1015 as an addition to the 'Cube' collection in 2019. It provides an even cleaner aesthetic than the original EP1003 due to the screwless fixing method and we also increased the projection to suit the trend toward the slightly thicker cabinet and furniture doors.

DETAILS

The EP1015 solid brass edge pull is a discreet handle that is recessed into the top or side edge of a cabinet door/draw and bonded into place. These medium-size (55mm projection) edge pulls can comfortably be used on doors/drawers up to 28mm thick.


Available in seven standard lengths, bespoke lengths can also be provided. For plated finishes, we can provide up to 1.4m and for living finishes up to 2.0m. For longer lengths (anything over 150mm), we strongly recommend that the weight of the handles and the impact this will have on the hinges is carefully considered.


Supplied as single items with a barbed tab for a bonded installation.


**Please note that Joseph Giles cannot guarantee that the longer edge (that incorporates the grip) on our edge pulls will be exactly 90 degrees – this is due to the extrusion manufacturing process and is particularly important if the pulls are being fitted side by side, the handles will tend to curl slightly away from each other**

Rose Mechanism

SPBEARING

Stainless steel roses with springing mechanism and sealed ball bearings, for optimum performance.

The unique rota-bearing sprung rose brings smooth, positive and flawless operation while addressing all the common lever handle issues. The unique rota-bearing sprung rose is our preferred option to be used with all lever handles.

BEARING

Stainless steel roses with sealed ball bearings, for optimum performance.

The bearing rose to bring smooth, positive and flawless operation while addressing all the common door knob issues. The unique bearing rose is our preferred option to be used with all door knobs.

BASIC

Flat aluminium rose, that may have to be used in some situations where the Grip Tight, Self-centring, Sprung Bearing Inner-Rose System cannot be accommodated, for example, thin metal doors.

This rose option is not our preferred rose to supply with lever handles or door knobs, it does not offer any of the properties and or performance of the grip tight or sprung rose designs, and operation of the handles are purely down to the strength of the lock and highly accurate installation.

FIXED

Stainless steel roses with TIG-welded fixed spindles.

A highly durable fixed rose for use where a lever handle or door knob is not required to turn, or rotate but is needed to be installed in a push/pull application, e.g. when used in conjunction with a magnetic catch on a cupboard door.

HSTO BEARING

Stainless steel single sided rose with TIG welded spindle with bearing for smooth operation, designed for lever handles and door knobs.

The bearing rose to bring smooth, positive and flawless operation while addressing all the common door knob issues. To be operated from one side of the door by the use of a single door knob.
