2015 Year in Review

From fantastic projects to new products, here are our 2015 highlights

2015 has been a great year for us.  We’ve introduced some fantastic new hardware products, worked with some inspiring clients and strengthened our customer service through constantly striving to improve what we do, and through collecting and acting on the feedback of our customers.

Our favourite product launched in 2015

Our dado rail inspired DK1004 doorknob was a great addition to our architectural hardware range.  The design inspiration was so strong for this product that it hardly required any prototyping so it was a really quick turnaround from the initial concept to a product ready for sale.  No matter how many products we design from scratch it never ceases to amaze us that the inspiration can come from anywhere, and also that something so simple can inspire a product that our customers really love.

The number of new products launched in 2015

We added about 20 new products to our ranges in 2015. In addition, numerous other products were created by us to solve specific client issues, with our bespoke service proving valuable on projects time after time.

Our customers’ favourite new launch in 2015

It is hard to pin down one product because different projects have different design visions.  One that has gone down really well across the board was the LV1045 – lever handle – all the feedback has been very positive on this new product.

Exciting new developments that took place in 2015

We have really focused on improving efficiencies in the businesses as we know how much a delay means to our customers.  One example of this is undertaking process mapping – this approach has enabled us to examine our whole process from quote to delivery and identify any areas that could cause delays or problems, and then take the necessary steps to resolve them. We have also recruited a new supply chain manager, Stephen, who has a big focus on delivery on time.  These improvements are vital in helping us to achieve ‘the big 5’ – consistently delivering the right goods, at the right time, to the right place, at the right cost and in the right condition.

Team growth in 2015

We have also grown our team in 2015, with seven new people joining us this year: Mo, Lili, Felix, Stephen, Patricia, Carissa and Lionel.  All our new team members are helping us in our aim of excellence in all areas of the business and they have all been firmly integrated into the existing teams.

Important notice to international buyers and specifiers

Welcome to Joseph Giles, we hope you enjoy browsing our exclusive product lines. At present, all our cabinet handles, sliding door furniture, edge pulls and accessories are suitable for global projects, however, door knobs and lever handles will require compatible locks and latches.

We have designed a solution to this which will be available in the near future, however, in the interim we recommend that you speak with one of our specialists to ensure compatibility prior making an order.
