Firstly, the bold, angular Ashworth Cabinet Handle pays homage to the Bauhaus Movement and is based on a 1920s design by Walter Gropius, regarded by many as one of the pioneers of modern architecture. Demonstrating simplicity and geometry like its sister product, the Ashworth Lever Handle, it has a square stem and an ergonomic central cylinder.
With many parallels between Joseph Giles’ craft and design values and those of Walter Gropius, who strove to bring art and manufacturing together, we’re proud to launch this Cabinet Handle in the Ashworth range.
Made from solid brass, designers opting for the polished chrome or polished nickel finishes will value how light is reflected. One of the brass finishes – polished brass waxed, brushed brass waxed, or mid antique brass waxed – will suit those seeking luxurious warmth. A deeper hue can be selected with the dark bronze waxed finish.
Fast forward four decades to the 1960s and we come to our second new product, the Jude Cabinet Pull. Our designers and craftsmen have used a popular 1960s aluminium cabinet handle as inspiration for the Jude Cabinet Pull. Transformed by Joseph Giles into a handcrafted solid brass piece with clean lines and a finer, contemporary finish; the Jude Cabinet Pull is slimmer and more delicate than the 60s original.
Opt for a subtle Sixties reference in your luxurious scheme with the new Jude Cabinet Pull.
Both these products have been created in answer to a growing demand for simple, elegant cabinet fittings that add value to high quality handcrafted furniture without distracting from the furniture piece. We are anticipating that our trending living finishes will be particularly popular in these little masterpieces and will be holding stock of brushed brass, polished brass, dark bronze and mid antique bronze.
Both new products for November are masters of simplicity and first-class British craftsmanship.
