Complete renovation and refurbishment of mews house over three floors.
ChallengesWe worked closely with the end-client on this project, as she suffers reduced grip and capability in her hands, and required special handles and hardware to enable ease of use.
Several bespoke products required careful design to work with the door configurations. The oversize door knobs were machined from solid brass, so were very heavy, and this had to be carefully considered to make sure they operated smoothly and without effort. The bespoke lever handles on plates also had to be specially configured to work on the slender metal Crittall doors.
And - of course - everything had to look beautiful and meet the design criteria.
The completed project is a surprisingly spacious and airy feeling family house over three floors, filled with a variety of works of art, and our very happy client loves the design and functionality of the bespoke hardware. The hardware and stepped detailing throughout blends beautifully with the overall design, presenting a thoroughly modern interpretation of traditional Deco styling.
Door and window hardware throughout.
